Prescribing Information
Tirzepatide is a glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide, or GIP, and glucagon-like peptide-1, or GLP-1, receptor agonist that may be prescribed when clinically appropriate as part of a provider-guided treatment plan. Depending on the medication dispensed, tirzepatide may be an FDA-approved branded medication or a compounded medication prepared by a licensed pharmacy partner.
Compounded tirzepatide is not FDA-approved as a finished drug product and is not the same as Zepbound® or Mounjaro®.
Black Box Warning
FDA-approved tirzepatide products include a boxed warning for risk of thyroid C-cell tumors. It is unknown whether tirzepatide causes thyroid C-cell tumors, including medullary thyroid carcinoma, or MTC, in humans.
Do not use tirzepatide if you or your family have a history of MTC or if you have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2, or MEN 2.

Important Safety Information
Do not use tirzepatide if you have a known allergy to tirzepatide or any ingredient in the medication, have a personal or family history of MTC, or have MEN 2.
Tell your provider if you have or have had pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, kidney disease, diabetes, diabetic retinopathy, severe stomach or digestion problems, depression, suicidal thoughts, or are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding.
Tirzepatide may increase the risk of pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, dehydration, kidney injury, severe gastrointestinal reactions, low blood sugar when used with insulin or insulin secretagogues, allergic reactions, and worsening diabetic retinopathy in certain patients.
Tirzepatide may slow stomach emptying and may affect the absorption of oral medications.
Seek urgent medical help if you experience severe abdominal pain, signs of allergic reaction, severe vomiting, symptoms of dehydration, fainting, or trouble breathing.
